History of the Internet

Perhaps not entirely relevant but we thought we would give you a very brief snapshot of the internet in early 1994 - when we built our first website.

This is not at all relevant to today, but it is interesting to look back and see how far the internet has come.

• Popular search engines and directories such as Yahoo and Google did not exist. Interestingly, Google was a latecomer in this area.

• Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Firefox had not been created. Mosaic was the choice of web browser at the time.

• Internet for residents and business was only available as dialup - at $6 an hour.

 

It is amazing to look back and see how much things have changed.
